No. 80 The social media struggle - kyley & eva open up

Kyley and Eva talk about social media (womp womp) and it’s human-ness, its huge value and place in our lives even with ups of connection and community, and downs with comparison-it is and endless 2 am scrolling. We talk about:

  • Stepping back from social media for the summer, finding new platforms and creative outlets that feel right, but still battling the balance and time spent.

  • The echo chamber of content and showing up as yourself and being embodied, instead of having to be an expert. * Figuring out how to surrender to attachment and also owning and stepping into your power and how that is the alchemy that ultimately attracts people to you.

  • Stop arranging chairs on the Titanic and get out there and do things a whole other way – and by doing that you get to show others how to do it too

  • In the end, we both speculate the future of social media, how well the algorithm knows them, and Eva feels good about consuming social media but not so much about making it, and Kyley is looking to unhook from the consumption, and the approval of the content she creates.

Every single time I’ve had one of these big moments of surrender and receiving it’s always very different. What I get is not actually exactly what I thought I wanted but somehow better.

What if I just lived intimately with the present moment constantly and let life live through me?
